Become a volunteer!!! Welcome to North Hays County Fire/Rescue, Driftwood Battalion. Becoming a volunteer firefighter is one of the most
gratifying things that you can do. Giving back to the Q: When do we meet and what do I have to do? A: Driftwood Battalion meets every Tuesday night starting at 7pm. Training normally lasts approximately 2 hrs. To become a member either fill in an application
form here or just turn up to one of our Tuesday night training Q: How much training will I receive? A: North Hays County Fire/Rescue trains at least
once a week. You will also be eligible to sign up for What other types of training are available? Many of our members have taken additional courses.
Such as Trench rescue, Swift water rescue, High angle rescue, Some of our members also attend the Texas Engineering Extension Service’s (TEEX) Annual Fire School in College Station Texas. We offer an Introductory academy and a basic
firefighter academy so that you can fast track your training We encourage many of our members to train as medical
responders. CPR/AED training is given, but ask any Q: What else do I need to know? A: We will provide you with uniform and training. The current minimum age limit is 18, there is no upper age limit. Q: How much time do I need to give? A: We ask that you attend as many training nights as
possible. You will also be assigned to a shift after you have We understand that many people have busy lives, so
